Unfortunately beauty is not the only thing in our culture that is illusory. Freedom, the basic principles of our system of justice and civl rights, freedom of expression, and I'm beginning to think even Idol is rigged. Not that these things don't exist. But often what people mistake for the real thing is an illusion.
